Dr. Srikantha K did his MBBS Graduation from Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical college, Belgaum (1997), MD (Internal medicine) from M. S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore (2001). He gained experience by working as Consultant Physician and Intensivist at Kasaragod Institute of Medical Sciences, Kasaragod, Kerala. He obtained his DNB training in Super-Specialty of Cardiology at A. J. Hospital and Research Center, Mangalore in 2009 and joined this hospital as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in 2010. He has been performing lifesaving emergency procedures like Primary Coronary Angioplasties in the setting of acute heart attacks since then round the clock. He is also well versed with planned Single, double, triple and multi-lesion coronary Angioplasties through both trans-femoral and trans-radial routes, Temporary and permanent Single / dual chamber Pacemaker implantations, Implantable Cardiac defibrillators, Various types of peripheral vessel angioplasties like Carotid, Renal and limb saving upper and lower limb angioplasties, implanting and retrieving Vena Caval filters etc. Under his supervision, the Department of Cardiology has been making good progress in the right direction.
